At his GDC panel today, Keiji Inafune released a trailer showing the gameplay of Mighty No.9. It features the alpha build of the game. In the game that’s Megaman but in name.

Mighty No. 9 is a KickStarter funded indie game coming out for everything. More specifically the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and  PlayStation Vita and will be released in 2015.

I personally have no issue with the game, when it comes out I’ll play it. I have an issue with the behind the scenes community structure of the game. I have no issue with Keiji Inafune, I have an issue with how people constanly put him over as an untouchable god amonst men just because he left Capcom. He complains that the Japanese gaming industry has a lack of gameplay innovation (A sentiment that is shared over here in the west.) He left Capcom to purse his goal to make the games that he wants and the first thing he does is rip off Monster Hunter which is a Capcom game. Another personal issue I take is how this affects the fan’s feelings towards Capcom. I don’t like how this one game from Inafune is said to be the end of Capcom and call for their blood just because the fanbase of a small niche franchise is unhappy. That’s like if I went around saying that the Wii U isn’t selling because Nintendo won’t make a new F-Zero.
