For all of you that waited on the New 3DS XL in hopes that the standard model would be released, your patience is about to pay off. Today at an investor meeting, Nintendo’s President and CEO, Satoru Iwata confirmed that the platform would be coming to America April 23. Here is what Iwata had to say in regards to the platform:
“It would have been ideal for us to have been able to release the New 3DS and New 3DS XL together. Unfortunately we experienced shortages and we had to make the difficult decision to release the XL model by itself. “
Iwata did not go into specifics on available colors or available faceplates, which is information that I would expect to see soon.
So while this news may be good for the gamers that waited, this is most likely going to sting for the ones that didn’t. What do you guys think about this move? Is it good? Is it bad? Let us know in the comments below. Happy April Fools day!by
