Deep Silver has recently announced that Dead Island 2 will no longer be developed by Yager Developments. The publisher has also delayed the game until 2016 due to quality concerns. It is still unknown the exact reason why Deep Silver decided to drop Yager, but they have made a statement about the issue:

“With Dead Island 2, Deep Silver has always been dedicated to delivering the sequel that Dead Island fans deserve. After careful consideration, today we announce the decision to part ways with development partner YAGER. We will continue working towards bringing our vision of Dead Island 2 to life, and we will share further information at a later stage.”

I’m honestly pretty disappointed that Deep Silver decided to kick out Yager. The developer made one of my favorite games of last gen, Spec Ops: The Line. Dead Island 2 was also looking promising with how comical and fun it seemed under Yager. I just hope that the game will still come out as quality without them. It is at least good to see that Deep Silver wants to be really sure that Dead Island 2 will be of higher quality considering the negativity about the first title’s bugs and glitches.
