Xbox 360, the Offline Gamer’s Console

An interview with Microsoft’s Don Mattrick asked what will gamers who have absolutely no internet connection do with “an always connected Xbox One?” The answer: Xbox 360. With Microsoft’s newest version of the Xbox 360 show cased at E3 recently, players who have absolutely no internet connection will have to enjoy Xbox with the Xbox 360. Microsoft knows the crazy backlash the community has shown since the Xbox One announcement about a month back, being always online, Mattrick stated, “It’s a service-based world, if you think about things and how they get better with an internet connection, that’s a design choice we’ve made. I think people will appreciate it… We did a lot of testing, a lot of consumer research and I think we made a good choice.” I think that means even with Sony looking on top in the console war, Microsoft will not change their policies for always being online and all the other little rules they created. The Xbox 360 will still be around for at least 2-3 years, possibly even more and with new games still coming out on it, I think Microsoft has covered their butts by coming out with a new 360 model to  appeal to the offline gamers.
