Rumor: Unannounced 3rd-Party Exclusive Hitting Wii U in 2014

According to Nico Wav of French gaming website Gameblog, an unknown exclusive 3rd-party exclusive for the Wii U is currently under development and is set to hit store shelves next year. He tweeted this information on Twitter earlier today from Japan.

Wav also notes that this exclusive will be “in the vein of Bayonetta 2”, but what exactly does that entail? He could mean that it’ll be a 3rd-person action game like Bayonetta, or that it’s “in the vein” of it in the sense that it was previously a game set for a multi-platform release, was dropped, and picked up by Nintendo – it’s most likely the latter.

Either way though, it’s great news. Nintendo already has a slew of quality games for 2014, and based off what we’re hearing the list is only going to get much bigger. Let us know what you think down below!

UPDATE: Many gamers are speculating that it might be Itagaki’s The Devil’s Third. The game definitely fits the bill considering the fact that THQ was originally supposed to publish the game, but as we all know, they unfortunately went bankrupt and are no more. It’s possible that Nintendo could’ve offered to publish the game in-exchange for exclusivity like they did with Bayonetta 2.

Then again, Wav did state that the game was an “unannounced”, and Devil’s Third is definitely an already announced title. At this point we can’t say for sure just what this project may be. We’ll just have to wait and see.
