According to Robert Ward from Siliconera, Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U runs in 1080p alongside an already-confirmed target 60 frames-per-second.
“I don’t know what the inspiration for Bayonetta 2 was, but it’s clear it went through the “crash and build” process. 1080p clarity clear, in fact.”
Ward also notes the the demo he played at PAX Prime this year seems to be the same demo form E3 2013.
“One of the characteristic traits of a Kamiya game is creating a visual spectacle, and Bayonetta 2 doesn’t disappoint—but like with Zelda: Wind Waker HD, it seems that the demo available at PAX Prime this year was the same build from E3.”
So even if the demo isn’t true 1080p, Platinum and Nintendo could have easily bumped it up to that resolution by now. After all, this isn’t the first report we’ve heard about Bayonetta 2 running at 1080p with a targeted 60fps, as GaminBolt’s Ravi Sinha also reported that the game does indeed run in these specifications.
I’m all about the frame rate, but with 1080p in-combination with a locked, smooth FPS, it seems like Bayonetta 2 is shaping up to be one of the most visually appealing action titles to date.by
