According to Qwilt.com, Twitch.tv is the number one live streaming content site in the United States. Twitch currently possesses 43.6 percent of all live streaming viewership, while the WWE has 17.7.
Qwilt goes on to describe Twitch.tv as “Yankee Stadium, Lambeau Field, Madison Square Garden, Estadia Do Maracana and Wembley all rolled into one” Talk about going overboard on the hyperbole. Twitch is popular because of constant streaming live matches, demos, tutorials etc. in the gaming community that ranges from pro matches in League of Legends, to demos and live streams from the pros of Call of Duty and Street Fighter.
Also, for those of you wondering about the WWE, it has absolutely nothing to do with the WWE Network that launched earlier this year. WWE content such as Monday Night RAW and PPVs had been streamed on the internet live for years, albeit illegally.
