Rumor: Prominet Japanese Developers All In One Xbox One; 32 Games To Be Announced

Along with the news the Xbox One will be released in Japan in a few months, Microsoft Japan released today, a list of some of the most infamous and prominent third party developers in Japan taking aim at making next-gen games for the Xbox One. The ones in bold are the developers that have yet to announce a game:

  • Arc System Works
  • Artdink
  • Access Games
  • Acquire
  • Altus
  • Intergrow
  • Experience
  • SNK Playmore
  • Electronic Arts
  • Kadokawa Games
  • Capcom
  • Gung Ho Online      Entertainment
  • Qute
  • Grounding
  • G.rev
  • Klon
  • Cave
  • Genki
  • Tecmo Koei
  • Codemasters
  • Konami
  • CyberConnect2
  • CyberStep
  • Silicon Studio
  • Zoo
  • Square Enix
  • Spike Chunsoft      (Publishing The Witcher 3 in Japan)
  • SEGA

  • From Software
  • Bethesda      Softworks
  • Marvelous AQL
  • MAGES.
  • Moss
  • Yukes
  • Ubisoft
  • Land Ho!
  • LEVEL-5
  • Warner Bros.      Entertainment

This is insane in the sense of unnerving surprise. A lot of these developers have always been firmly Sony in the past. Take into account that not all of the supposed games will be new; some could be ports of last-gen games, or remakes. (Capcom could port Ultra Street Fighter 4 to PS4/Xbox One.) Also, despite that this is Xbox centric, some, if not all of the rumored 32 games will be multiplatform, none of these supposed games are said to be Xbox One exclusives.

Knowing Microsoft’s less than stellar track record in Japan with the last two Xbox’s will this be the push that will make Japan care about the Xbox One? I don’t know?
